Platter With Offset Rim.

About one-third preserved; foot missing. Mended in antiq-uity; one lead clamp and holes for two more preserved.

Horizontal floor with groove and ridge edge. Offset rim with molded edge. Stamped palmettes on outer molding; within this a coarse cable pattern and a ridge. Two circles of rouletting on floor: outer circle bounded by two grooves to outside, one to inside; inner circle bounded by one groove to outside, two to inside. Between circles one large stamped palmette and trace of another (probably originally four radiating palmettes). Extremely micaceous, light brownish gray fabric (10YR 6/2); dark gray to brown glaze (10YR 4/1--7.5YR 4/4). Owner's mark under foot: ⟧ινα'δου.

Same fabric as 1574 and 1575. Later examples of the shape: P 3551, P 7981, P 5343, P 20564, the last two in a closely similar fabric.
