Notes: | The articulated legs and feet of a child were found at the east end of the original limts of fill 1004 and cut 1009. The feet were lying parallel on the plantar aspect. The legs (tibia and fibula) were also parallel and straight. The were both cut off just below (inferior to) the tibial tuberosity and the fibular head. This suggests that they were not moved but truncated when they were in situ by a later deposit (Grave 1990-22, an ''ossuary'' excavated in the 1990 field season (BN 829 B68)). One of the crania from skeleton context 1005 may be associated with this legs; however, it does not seem too probable as it is more likely that the cranium of this individual would have been mixed with the material from Grave 1990-22. | |
