Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is very dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | We continued excavating to the SE part of the courtyard between Unit 1 and Unit 2 in order to investigate the direction of drain capstones 232. The surface 295 is bounded to the west by the big pit (bothros 5, NB 880), to the north by drain 232, and to the south by the preserved drain 164. It is obvious now that drain 232 and drain 164 were not connected. We still do not know whether they ended at the same point or not. It is noteworthy that this deposit was very rich. It also had a big amount of bones and it seems that it can be incorporated with deposit 145, which was excavated in the first session and had the same characteristics. We left some fill attached with drain 164 for static purposes.
