Corinth Basket: Temple E, Southeast, context 333
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 333
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Cut for Post Hole, W end of Corridor
Notebook:   1108
Context:   333
Date:   2014/05/19
Description:   The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat.
Notes:   The cut of this deposit (what is believed to be a post hole) was very straight-forward. After the removal of the small rocks on the top of the deposit, which indicated the deposit, the deposit came out in a relatively shallow, circular form. The sides were vertical--and the bottom was flat, which would truly be an indication of a hole-like structure there previously.
This post hole is in a series of four post holes, all seemingly in a line (Contexts 331, 337, 359, and 364). 331 and 337, the most W holes, were close together (and relatively shallow). 359 and 364 were on the E and pretty deep in comparison to 331 and 337. 331 and 337 are 0.70m apart and about 0.70m from Wall 20. 359 is about 2.0m from 337, and 359 and 364 are about 1.0m apart (along with being 0.70m from Wall 20 and its associated robbing trench).
