Corinth Basket: Temple E, Southeast, context 354
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 354
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Lens of fill in corridor, North of Church
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   354
Date:   2014/05/20
Lot:   Lot 2014-029
Stratum:   40% inclusions, fine and coarse sub-rounded, angular pebbles, some clay pockets
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Deposit 354 is a lens of a clayey-like matrix. It seems to be lying on a floor surface (pebbled) that was revealed with the removal of 346.
Deposit 354 was relatively shallow and a quick removal. The deposit was closed when the material below was believed to be harder. Perhaps it is part of a series of dumpings of various fill (which all seem similar in their matrices) in this space--again calling into question the nature and use of this space (outdoor?).
