Lot:   Lot 2014-057
Stratum:   30% ash, carbon, rooftiles, bone, ceramics, some angular pebbles, glass, iron
Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit context 497 is the fill of a large pit cut through the tile floor in unit 2 room A. This fill is distinguished from the one above (485) by its greater concentration of ash, though it expected that there will be joining pottery fragments and glass uniting both contexts. Like the context above, this fill produced many iron objects an dlarge fragments of prunted beakers. Although this deposit was taken separately from the fill 485, the deposits are fairly homogenous despit the greater concentration of ash in the lower fill, suggesting that the pit was rapidly filled, perhaps in one action.
