The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay. | | Notes: | | We begin investigating the South Hall, south of the church in Unit 2, to try to better understand its function. The structure was excavated in the 1991 season (NB828 PP157-170), but at the time they were not able to determine the building's use. We subdivide the room with an arbitrary line 3.6m from the front/west wall, and parallel to it. After cleaning, we find the pit dug and described in 1991. We decide to take down the floor level through the whole area. The material of the floor is very clayey and has few inclusions. The floor is overlaid by the wall to the south (535), but is laid against the walls to the west (526) and north (534). The south wall appears to be a partition wall added after the construction of the building. Another floor is revealed below this context. The top surface did not separate very cleanly from the one below in some places, so some spots were overdug.
