Three patches (contexts 594, 596, 597) of what seemed to have been some sort of exposed, trampled surface (as indicated by high amount of flattened inclusions, e.g. pottery, tile, brick, bone). The amount of time the surface was exposed is debatable, since the inclusions were often rather large (max. size: cobble and small boulder), and one would probably not want such sizeable material strewn about in the middle of a corridor. Perhaps it is simply part of the fill within the corridor that was purposefully flattened to prepare for an upper floor surface.
