While removing context 598, Thanassis thought he saw a grave cutting. We removed the feature as a fill, waiting for confirmation before assigning the cut. The feature was shallow--not a grave cut. Perhaps this was the soil upturned during the cutting event. However, another possible grave cutting with a slightly different orientation was confirmed by Guy and Thanassis. We will remove the fill as context 601 before assigning the cut.
