Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   603 is a firm fill that is dark and moist. There are rocks, cobble-sized, along with medium-sized angular pebbles, terracotta pieces, fragments of bone, glass, and pottery. As Thanassis took down Context 603 with a pick, a beaten-earth floor level and a small portion of the foudnation trench for Wall 556 were revealed. The trowel was used only at the lowest level of context 603, but the main portion of the xcavation was done with the pick. Part of Context 603 extned into a trench excavated for Wall 557 (Context 584, 2014) and under Wall 557 itself. In the NE part of the room another level of fill is visible above the floor, which will be excavated next. Excavated over the course of two days: the 21st and the 22nd.
Coins 13, 14, 15 found in sieve for eastern portion of context; coin 17 in the sieve for the wester portion of the context; coin 16 has an exact findspot, found by Thanassis: 118.08 E, 1065.23 N, 84.76 H.
