Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. The soil color is light brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | Coin (#34) Elevation: E: 125.323 N: 1077.077 Z: 84.505 Coin (#35) Elevation: E: 128.656 N: 1077.637 Z: 84.498 This context is the softer, looser fill in the eastern half and center of the trench, which seems to overlay a harder material to the N and SW. This harder material may meet up underneath 629. To the west lies another soft material, but is cleaner than where it meets the loose soil of 629. We have ome down upon a rocky, coccia pesto-like floor surface uner 629. The context has not been fully excavated by the end of the day END 2015/04/27 WAB The floor surface is mottled with flattened cobbles, tile, and brick. The stony, soft fill apparent in the middle of the trench at the beginning of excavation of this context extend all the way to the eastern baulk of the trench, just at a slightly lower level immediately above the floor surface . Thanassis claims that what we came down upon is NOT a floor, but all the inclusions look flattened to me. I will call it a surface for the time being. We finished removing the soft soil from this half of the trench. 02/06/2015 (L Kennedy): Animal bones: 2.19 kg, saved to Corinth Lot 2015-26. Not examined at this time
