Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context was begun by Kostas on 2015/05/05 by digging through 671 and finding a much higer concentration of rocks in the matrix underneath 671 in the NW corner of the corridor. Otherwise it is very similar to 671. It was left uncleaned and half-dug for a while until we had finished 671 and had figured out whether 682 was above or below the reddish layer. We decided that 682 was above the reddish layer and so decided to remove it first. 682 borders on its southern edge the top of the possible wall. This possible wall has stones very similar in size and shape to the stones of 682, but the workmen are leaving them in the line of the possible wall for now. We have also found more mortar along it.
We were incorrect about 682 being above the reddish layer. Instead it appears that we have dug through two layers and the reddish layer is actually above both of them. So we are closing 682 and will have to marry it later to the lowest layer when we are able to dig it in sequence.
