Context:   698
Date:   2015/05/07
Stratum:   inclusions: 10% cobbles, pottery, bone, tile
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   698 is more fill in the western half of the cut just north of the north wall of the church. It is a different context than 691 because the workmen said the soil was harder. The soil is also slightly lighter in color, although this may be due to the high afternoon temperature and sunshine drying it out. We have removed the last of Grave 2014-08 and the stones at its SW corner. We have also removed the larger stones at its SE corner.
