Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1109
Context:   735

Stratum:   inclusions: 10% pottery, bone, tile, brick
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We are now digging the first pass in the eastern half of the foundation trench. When this material was dug in the section, it was differentiated from the fill of the foundation trench below it. 735 should be the same as 710. After one pass, we are coming down on softer soil underneath, but not different enough to warrant a new context. While digging a second pass, Kostas uncovered a large tile with a hollow space underneath. There are other tiles as well, so it is likely a grave. This grave was completely exposed with the removal of this softer, darker dirt and needs to be drawn, after which the structure will be removed as its own context (by Elina) and the underlying fill excavated. The fill to the west of this grave remains harder and reddish, and a new basket (739) was started to separate the foundation trench fill that has not been disturbed by a grave cut from this deposit, which contains both foundation trench fill and the fill placed on top of the grave structure.
