Context:   738
Date:   2015/05/12
Lot:   Lot 2015-018
Stratum:   40% Sub rounded tabular coarse pebbles. Very stony with some larger stones. A few bits of charcoal
Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the W. The soil color is dark brownish red. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   (KTT) We finaly have begun to remove the res sandy layer that has remained in the SE side of the pit. The eastern boundary is distinct as it is the edge of the pit, however, as it proceeds W into the center of the pit, it looses its definition and we may have some mixing of sand with other contexts as the layer was dumped into the pit. Some bits of sand pop up in other parts of the pit, but don't seem to be associated with this context.
There is is a very clear distinction with the "mauro" soil beneath this context and the sand peels off of it nicely.
There is a slight color change to the SE, becoming a bit paler and yellower, however, in discussion with Larkin and the workmen, we decided this change was not significant enough to change contexts.

(ERA) 7:32 Work resumed in the context. Although the pottery needs to be washed and read, it is interesting to mention the presence here (and the contexts above) of wasters of ceramic production.
