Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Context 756 is fill in the cut just north of pit 9, which was clearly outlined before we started digging in this room. We have removed all of the layers overlaying the clay surface, but this context fills a cut into the clay surface, so we are excavating it first. It likely contains a grave, which will require the attention of James and Elina. While digging a first pass, Kostas turned up a large, flat-lying tile - likely a covering for the grave. We excavated all around the first tile - which lies at the southern end of the cut, and found another tile lying perpendicular to the first one and slanting down to the north. This second tile is lower than the first. There is a lot of rock in the fill above the grave. After uncovering most of the skeleton, we realized that the two tiles are actually just one broken tile and placed in the grave, one covering the skull, one covering the torso. The skull was also bordered on either side by rocks and another smaller tile - propping it up so that it faced upwards. The grave has been assigned number 2015-05. The tiles and stones around the skull are structure 758.
