While G. Saunders, L. Kennedy, T. Brannelly, and D. Smotherman thought this context ended with the beginning of a rubble fill, Thanasis thought it continued lower. We made the decision to end the context until such a time that the eastern part of the space was at the same elevation, as the relationship of the context to areas around it would be more clear at that point. At the moment of excavation, it remains unclear if context 773 is the final lense of the pit or an earlier deposit. The pottery reading will clarify this. At the closing of context 773, we stopped work at the bottom of the pit and returned to the other portion of Room 9.
Note: Context 773 was excavated before 772.
Note 2: After looking at the pottery, Context 773 does not seem to be part of the pit.
