Stratum:   25% medium to large cobbles and boulders, high concentration of roof tiles; bone
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark brownish black. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   The cleaning of deposit 66 revealed a pile of 4 small boulders over what seemed to our workman to be different soil. Excavation revealed a circular pit .60m in diameter. In the fill was a concentration of : large cobbles and small boulders, average size c. .10m x .05m but with a few over .20m x .10m; large roof tile fragments, ranging from c. .25m x .18m to .14m x .10m, varying in thickness 1.5-3.0cm. .80m down, the stones and tiles become less frequent. There are tiles of orange and tiles of yellow fabric. Most have a ribbed surface on top. Some are flat; some are curved. There is also a concentration of bone fragments here. Tiles and fist-sized cobbles were more prevalent toward the top; larger rocks more prevalent in lower soil. Some charcoal was seen in among the ceramic vessel fragments.
Later notes [15-4-14, JLL]: A coin was found at 84.69 (1063.63N, 101.37E). Large rocks have not been brought up this morning; we're back to large cobbles c. .10 x. 05m. It's getting hard to see at this depth; Thanassis thinks the soil may be changing. We've decided to change contexts to be on the safe side.
Large tile fragments totalled and weighed: 26 pieces weighing 19.00kg.
Finds collected: 2 bags metal fragments
