| Notes: | Context is cleanning of NW quadrant of chruch nave. This area was previously excavated in 1990 (see NB 831 + NB 835). Prior to excavation, the fallen columns (see NB 831, pp. 40-44) were rolled to the side. Cleaning avoided the deposit beneath these columns, since a higher elevation and concetration of ceramics were observed. Work proeeded from N to S by triangle to a deptch of 3-7 cm. Inclisios of ceramics and bones were infrequent, with bones concentrated in the NW corner of the area cleaned where the scarp of the robbing trench of the N wall (context 2) was heavily eroded in the NW corner of the church nave, between walls 20 and 21 (N wall and narthex cross wall). A fragment of plaster with a red painted face was collected along with ceramics and bones.
