Title:   Schist Fill against S Face of Wall 930
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1110
Context:   988
Date:   2016/05/31
Stratum:   The soil includes angular, tabular and platy fine, medium and large schist pebbles (ca. 70%), little pottyer, and a couple of subangular cobbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This context was against the south face of Wall 930. It was comprised primarily of medium sized schist pebbles. There are some tile fragments that appear to have fallen from Wall 927 on the eastern side. There is more schist here than in any other context excavated thus far this season in TESE. There is also a fair amount of lime against Wall 930, within and under the deposit. Removal of this fill revealed a pebble (possibly more schist) layer beneath it. Soil is much darker and redder in the NE corner of the deposit.
